Resolving DKIM errors

Last updated: May 4, 2026

If a DKIM error appears on one of your accounts, Stamina's GTM engineers are notified and will resolve it in the background — you don't need to action this yourself. If you'd like to understand what's happening or verify the fix, the steps below explain how DKIM errors are diagnosed and resolved.

What causes DKIM errors

  • The DKIM TXT record has not yet been added to DNS

  • The DKIM record was added with an incorrect host name or value

  • DNS changes haven't propagated yet — can take up to 48 hours

  • DKIM wasn't enabled in Google Admin Console after the record was added

  • The DKIM key was regenerated in Google Admin and the old DNS record is now invalid

How it's resolved

  1. Open Google Admin Console and go to Apps → Google Workspace → Gmail → Authenticate email.

  2. Select the affected domain and verify the status shows Authenticating email. If it shows Not authenticating email, click Start authentication.

  3. Copy the DKIM host name and full TXT record value shown in Google Admin.

  4. In the DNS panel, verify the record exists exactly as shown — check for extra spaces, truncated values, or incorrect host names.

  5. Use MXToolbox DKIM Lookup to confirm the record is resolving correctly.

If you notice a DKIM error, reach out to your GTM strategist via in-app chat or your shared Slack channel. Our engineers will investigate and resolve it — typically within one business day.
